Title: Pale as a Ghost

Setting: Season 5 – In particular, The Gift
Word Count: 1,092
Rating: PG for supernatural themes
Beta: haffner280 – Thanks for the assist, much appreciated! :)
Author’s Notes: The story below was written as part of a challenge called “Code Blue” in February 2007, for which I was awarded second place. In a nutshell, it was to write a Buffy the Vampire Slayer story, continuing from this sentence:
“Buffy is running through the hospital. Her face is cut and she looks like she’s been crying. Her leather jacket sways with every burst of an opening door. She stops as she sees the stretcher ahead. She breathes heavily looking at who is on it…”
So, with it, I figured I’d try something a little “different” (for me, at least). The story takes place at a very particular moment in Buffy and Dawn’s history, and is based on the finale to season five, The Gift.

As you can no doubt see, The Fiction is up and running with some stories already posted. Which means that, for all intents and purposes, we are now live. There is still a bio to be updated, and episodes of the virtual series need to be posted before the links work, but there is stuff to read.
If you have any comments about the look and feel, please make one below. While I love to have praise heaped upon me, if something just doesn’t seem quite “right”, be sure to post that, too.

Title: The Perfect Woman
Setting: Season 7, in particular End of Days
Word Count: 1,221
Rating: PG for very mild language
Beta: None, so I’m to blame for every little mistake!
Author’s Notes: Standard disclaimer about how they’re not my characters, not my concepts, and I’m writing fanfic because I don’t have the originality of the almighty Joss.
This story was originally written as part of a fanfic challenge on KAX entitled “Unconventional Bonds” just about a year ago, in March 2007. I was pleasantly surprised when it won first place.
I wrote this in the first person, from Andrew’s perspective. He makes some comments about events in previous episodes, which aren’t entirely accurate, but (just like possession) perception is nine tenths of the law. The fic stems from the interaction and bonding between the two characters when rummaging through the hospital.

Title: A New Beginning
Characters: Willow and Oz were both created by Joss Whedon. They do not belong to me.
Setting: A few years after BtVS season 7 in Brazil.
Word Count: approx. 1,948 (3 ½ pages)
Rating: PG
Beta(s): Ameer and Batmite79
Author’s Notes: I really, really, really liked the Willow/Oz ship that we saw on screen – and his brief reappearance in season 4 – and they’re two of my favorite characters, so I jumped at the chance to write them. I set it in Brazil not to add Kennedy as a main focus of the piece, but because I thought Willow would like it there and be able to learn a lot. It has so much culture and quite a bit to experience that I really think she could thrive there. As for Kennedy – I wasn’t fond of their onscreen relationship, but I can’t say (as much as I’d like to) that Willow would automatically take Oz back or dump Kennedy, so I wanted it to be a Willow/Oz piece that left that aspect as open-ended as I could make it.
Portugese translations are as follows:
Posso ajudá-lo: May I help you?
Não falo Português: I don’t speak Portugese.
Desculpe: Excuse me.
